Nathalie Jacquounain was born and raised in Soviet Russia, in St. Petersburg.
She began studying art seriously at the age of 10 and graduated as a set
designer from the National Academy of Theatre and Cinematography.
Driven by a strong sense of belonging to the European artistic tradition,
she moved to France, to Paris, in 1980, where she worked for a year at
the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, then studied at
the University of Paris 7 Jussieu and obtained a postgraduate diploma
in communication.
Jacquounain has published several articles on art theory in the journal
"Schéma et schématisation". She has commissioned a 2m x 12m decorative
mosaic fresco on the theme of ecology in the public space of Créteil and
a 1m50 high sculpture on the theme of diversity for the Cultural Center
of Créteil.
Jacquounain has had 14 solo exhibitions (11 in France) and regularly
participates in numerous fairs and group exhibitions, with numerous
participations in New Renaissance initiatives, including the Festival
at Villa Tittoni (Desio, 2020).
